Getting Started
Tap the + button on the People tab. You can add someone manually by entering their name and birthday, or tap "Import from Contacts" to pull birthdays directly from your address book.
First, add yourself and mark "This is me". Then add family members and assign relationship types (Spouse, Child, Parent, Sibling, Grandparent). The Family tab shows everyone organized by relationship with dual age cards.
The Gregorian calendar is the standard solar calendar (365 days/year). The Hijri calendar is the Islamic lunar calendar (354 days/year). Because lunar years are shorter, a person's Hijri age is always slightly higher than their Gregorian age. This matters for Islamic milestones like the age of prayer.
Islamic Milestones
Many scholars recommend teaching children to pray at 7 lunar (Hijri) years old, and encouraging regular prayer by age 10. MoonAge calculates the exact Hijri age and shows a countdown to these milestones so you never miss them.
Over 20 milestones including: Age of Discernment (7 Hijri), Prayer Discipline (10 Hijri), Age of Responsibility (15 Hijri), Age of Prophet Isa (33 Hijri), Age of Wisdom (40 Hijri), Age of Prophet Muhammad (63 Hijri), plus secular milestones like school age, driving age, and decade birthdays.
